Hare Folklore Votive

£12.00

Inspired by milagro ‘miracle’ votives, our collection of embossed metal decorations are crafted to bespoke illustrations inspired by Celtic folklore and nature. These decorative charms can be seen as a source of good luck and protection in the way that many cultures have used votive symbols in their homes and holy places over the centuries.

A sacred and mystical animal in folklore, the hare is linked to the Celtic goddess of fertility, and is a symbol of abundance, prosperity and good fortune. Hares were believed to be connected to the Otherworld and in Celtic legend to be shapeshifters who could take on human form.

Hang the votives individually or in groups from the ring attachment on the reverse, or add a velvet ribbon or colourful thread for an extra touch of magic.

A creative collaboration between Bohemia and Phoebe Rose, Edinburgh.
